R&D and Consultancy
A Research ,design and development wing is already exists in FSNL,which is carrying out designing and development of our own plants for scrap recovery(Magnetic Separator/Fe-enrichment & slag grinding plant.)
Fsnl has developed FE-ENRICHMENT PLANT at BHILAI .
Research & Development division would focys on following research & development activities :
- Recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in steel and other allied sectors.
- Augmentation of recovery process for complete recovery of ferrous
- Quality enhancement steel scrap
- Optimum design of recovery plants for small application.
India is very fast country and having a sizeable population. Yet it is far behind other developed countries when it comes to technology. One of the major reasons of this situation is lack of concentration and focus on research & development. The core industry viz. steel, cement, power, infrastructure need new technological inputs to not only improve the existing production process but also to help in increasing new capacities. Steel industry, Cemennt Industry and Power are primarily dependent upon minerals and therefore there is a good scope for research and development in mining, production process and recovery of ferrous/non-ferrous materials from scrap generated during production process, reduction of losses in quantity of finished product generated from processing of ore.
There are very few companies in the world who focus upon research and development in these areas and there is a good scope for FSNL which has world class technology and experience of more than 50 years in segregation of ferrous material from scrap and material handling to foray into the area of research and development/consultancy as mentioned before.
